Forget model scouts, hire client scouts!

It’s common to have a scheme in place to encourage your clients to recommend their friends to you. But, have you ever thought about taking it a step further by encouraging your clients to actually hunt for new business for you?

A client scout team is a different type of recommend-a-friend scheme, which is great if you have energetic and outgoing clients who you trust.

Get a small team together who can represent your salon and brand and give them personalised business-style cards with their name on it and an offer that they can give to potential new customers, e.g. a free cut and blow dry when they present the card in the salon. Your scouts shouldn’t hand them out to everyone, only to those they think will enjoy coming to your salon and are likely to rebook. That’s why it is important you trust them, otherwise they could give a load of cards for free services and you may not get any repeat bookings from it.

You can reward the scout by giving them free cuts and blow dries, or give them a permanent discount on all services as long as they get a minimum number of recruits every couple of months.
